We are so excited to have Ross Mathews and Salvador Camarena with us today to for our next installment of I Heart Palm Springs! This Hollywood power couple (Salvador is an acclaimed celebrity fashion stylist and Ross is a hilarious TV host/personality and author) love to get away to their second home in Palm Springs whenever they can, and Ross was just named as the celebrity Grand Marshal of this year’s Palm Springs Pride Parade on Nov. 3. Salvador and Ross are filling us in on their favorite Palm Springs eateries, shops and more!
Favorite Restaurants in Palm Springs?
Salvador & Ross: Some of our favorite restaurants are: Trio for a great lunch; El Jefe for the best tacos (and tequila, of course!); Workshop Kitchen + Bar for a fancy dinner; Norma’s at the Parker for brunch and mimosas; Lulu for all-day happy hour; and Shanghai Reds for late night bites!
Favorite poolside cocktail/drink?
Salvador & Ross: We love the ‘Palm Springs Lemonade’ at Azul, and it’s easy to replicate on your own by the pool! All you need is Stoli Citron, sweet & sour mix, club soda and pomegranate juice over ice to enjoy at home!
Favorite shopping spots in Palm Springs?
Favorite things to do in Palm Springs?
Salvador & Ross: Some of our favorite activities include a whole lot of nothing! And of course lazy pool time, and then we love to head to Toucans Tiki Bar for drinks and trivia.
Any must-have items for Palm Springs?
Salvador & Ross: Definitely a variety of swim trunks in different lengths, patterns and colors, plus great bold t-shirts and short-sleeved collared shirts. Casual but chic shorts, flip-flops, sandals, boats shoes or TOMS all work well.
This is a particularly exciting week to be speaking with Ross and Salvador! Tonight (Monday, Sept. 2), they are featured on HGTV’s House Hunters, in an episode documenting their search for the perfect Palm Springs retreat. Then on Friday, Sept. 6, Ross’ new show, Hello Ross, premieres on the E! network right after Fashion Police. You won’t want to miss either show, so be sure to tune in (or set your DVR)!
