It’s almost time to ring in the new year, and options abound for celebrating in Palm Springs. Here’s a round up of our favorite picks!

 

Le Cirque Discotheque NYE 2014 at Birba

Celebrate the new year at “Le Cirque Discotheque” at Birba, partying in the style of Parisian carnies and circus freaks with DJs, live performances, snacks, sweet treats and a midnight champagne toast. Brought to you by Foundation 10 Creative, Qulture Qreative and The Coachella Valley Art Scene, and hosted by Kindra of Daughters of Devotion, with a disco DJ set by Alf Alpha. 9 pm – 1:30 am at Birba (622 North Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs 92262). $10 with a carnival-themed costume, $20 without a costume. 21+. Viceroy Masquerade Ball & Poolside Reception

The Viceroy Palm Springs is hosting a glamorous black and white masquerade ball with Venetian actors to entertain, a sumptuous six-course feast, free flowing Veuve Clicquot Champagne, DJ Valida from KCRW spinning under the stars and a 2,014-balloon drop on the dance floor at midnight. Cocktails begin at 8 pm, dinner served promptly at 9:30 pm. Limited to 100 New Year’s revelers, $360 per person. Click here to view the menu.

30th Annual Masquerade Party and Black & Gold NYE 2014

Join BB Ingle for his 30th annual New Year’s Eve bash at the Palm Springs Convention Center, featuring live music, DJs, dancers, balloon drops, party favors and more. 9 pm – 4 am, with tickets available for purchase here.  Also at the convention center is the invite-only Black & Gold party, produced by Luis Alberto Calderon, Robert Sabo and Vanja Terzic in conjunction with BB Ingle, which promises elegant debauchery, bottle service, an upscale lounge set up, confetti launchers and luxury sport cars.

 

New Year’s Eve at the Ace Hotel

Burger Records presents New Year’s Eve 2014 in The Commune at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs, with The Allah-Las and Night Beats with special guests The Pesos, Tara Fox & The Desert Sands, Reverberation DJs and another special mystery guest. Doors open at 8 pm with music starting at 9 pm.  Event is 21+; tickets are $20 and can be purchased here. Tickets include entrance to the party and a midnight champagne toast, with food and drinks available for purchase. The first 250 tickets sold also get a limited edition Reverberation compilation tape from Burger Records featuring artists playing the NYE event.

Also at the Ace Hotel, ring in the new year listening to DJs Aimlo and Pawn in the Amigo Room starting at 10 pm. Playing a mix of Old School Hip-Hop, Disco, and Funk, these guys will keep you dancing until the wee hours of the new year.  Event is free and 21+.

Before you show off your best moves on the dance-floor, King’s Highway at the Ace Hotel will be hosting a special four-course dinner. Reservations recommended at 760.325.9900 or online.

 

Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs

Drawing inspiration from Baz Luhrman’s hit cinematic rendition of the Great Gatsby, the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs presents a live show, “Rockin’ the Gatsby,”  that embodies the glitz and glamour of the 20s with a rock ‘n’ roll twist. Guests are urged to wear theme-appropriate attire. Tickets include: two drink tickets for cocktail hour, dinner with wine service, “Rockin’ the Gatsby” Rock Show, post show Disco with DJ and a midnight champagne toast. The Hard Rock also just announced that Andy Rourke, former bass player for The Smiths, will DJ on New Year’s Eve. More info to come!

 

New Year’s Event 2014 at Bar

Bar in Palm Springs is hosting a New Year’s Eve party featuring DJ Mister Blaqk, with a champagne toast at midnight. Cocktail attire suggested; $10 cover; 8 pm – 2 am.


Workshop Kitchen + Bar

Workshop Kitchen + Bar is offering a special five-course prix fixe menu for New Year’s Eve, including a full open bar all night (including wine and top shelf liquor). The Riviera Palm Springs

The Riviera is hosting a poolside New Year’s Eve buffet. The early seating ($48) runs from 5 to 7 pm and features acoustic guitarist Michael Keeth. The late seating ($95) starts at 8 pm, and features the Mercedes Moore Band playing 1960s-style soul music. Admission to the Sidebar poolside area with a champagne toast is $40 (no dinner included).

In the Riviera’s Starlight Lounge, pianist Martin Ross is performing starting at 7:30 p.m. At 11 pm DJ Shasta will spin dance hits to ring in the new year. Admission is $40 and includes a champagne toast at midnight.

 

The Saguaro

James Beard Award-winning Iron Chef Jose Garces’ team is planning a four-course Basque dinner at Tinto at the Saguaro with a selection of their favorite items, with wine pairings available and a flamenco performance by Stephen Dick & Company.  6- 10 pm, $75 per person. Call 760.322.1900 for reservations.

El Jefe, the Saguaro’s tequila and taco bar offering more than 100 different labels of tequila and mescal, will have music by Los Angeles-based DJ Roy Reyes from 10 pm – 2 am. No reservations necessary.
