LOUIS VUITTON CRUISE ’16 SHOW IN PALM SPRINGS
Nicolas Ghesquière has chosen Palm Springs as the location for Louis Vuitton’s next resort collection fashion show, slated for May 6, 2015. This will be the second destination show for the brand’s cruise collection, following up last year’s show in Monaco. Louis Vuitton now joins a roster of top brands including Tom Ford and Saint Laurent that are bringing major shows to the west coast.
Louis Vuitton’s Cruise ’16 show is being held at the Bob and Delores Hope estate, located in the Southridge area of Palm Springs. The 20,000+ square foot home, designed by John Lautner, is renowned for its futuristic design and is currently on the market for $24.9 million, listed with Patrick-Stewart Properties.
Louis Vuitton is no stranger to the desert, and even shot their 2011 resort collection look book in Palm Springs, with locations including the Parker Palm Springs, Ace Hotel and the midcentury modern Chase Bank (formerly the Coachella Valley Savings and Loan) designed by E. Stewart Williams (images from the 2011 shoot below). The brand also maintains a retail location on El Paseo in Palm Desert.
