This wedding made our sparkle-loving staff’s hearts collectively skip a beat. The gorgeous and supremely-stylish couple, Kate and Jon Paul, wanted a chic, fun and glam Palm Springs soiree, and their powerhouse team of talented vendors helped deliver exactly that. Event designer extraordinaire Jesi Haack and her crew knocked it out of the park with this one (disco balls, a sequined dance floor and personalized Airstreams!), and we’re swooning over the paper goods by Pitbulls and Posies and florals by JL Designs, all captured so superbly by the photography of Joielala.
The Empire Polo Club, located just outside of Palm Springs proper in the city of Indio, is both an active polo facility and a spectacular wedding and event venue, with white peaked tents, lush green fields and palm trees as far as the eye can see, and has the added benefit of avoiding some of the outdoor noise restrictions that cause many other local venues to shut off any outdoor music just as the party is getting started!
From the bride, Kate: We LOVE Palm Springs. It is our happy place to get away. We live wonderful but BUSY lives in Newport Beach, CA, and sometimes it’s hard to take time out to just be! A few years ago we went to Palm Springs for the 4th of July (crazy I know) to escape the Newport Beach madness. We were instantly hooked – the sunshine, pools, and just time to relax and reconnect kept us coming back every weekend we possibly could, all year round. Even before we were engaged we knew we would one day get married in Palm Springs – our place to get a way from it all and relax into each others’ company! We also love the architecture and mid-century modern design aesthetic of the Palm Springs area. We just moved into our first home together and have taken many design inspiration trips to Palm Springs!
Kate and Jon Paul’s advice for couples planning their own Palm Springs wedding: Make it a reflection of who you are are there is no doubt you will have a blast! If we did it all over again, we would do it the exact same way! Also – try and stick to Spring or Fall! :)
Kate and Jon Paul each had their own personalized Airstream for hanging out with the bridal party before the ceremony!
From the bride, Kate: One of my favorite moments during the wedding was when my father-in-law hijacked the microphone from our amazing band to sing ‘Mustang Sally.’ I was on the tambourine of course!
Thank you to Kate & Jon Paul and Joielala for letting us share this spectacular wedding!
