When you pull up to the front of the Parker Palm Springs, you are immediately struck by the oversized orange double-doors peeking out behind the signature square-in-square patterned cement block facade that has become perhaps one of the most popular photo ops in all of Palm Springs. These doors were the perfect entrance to couple Amberly and Scott’s stylish, tangerine-filled wedding celebration. Headed up by event planner Cathy O’Connell of Celebrations of Joy, Amberly and Scott’s team of talented wedding vendors created a bright and fun event that was quintessential Palm Springs, all beautifully captured by the photography of Frenzel Studios. We are totally smitten by the gorgeous flowers by JL Designs (all of our favorites – dahlias, peonies, succulents, ranunculus and garden roses), in citrus hues that perfectly complimented the graphic orange and white fabric carried through the event design.

From the couple, Amberly and Scott:  We really wanted a sun-filled and warm wedding weekend that allowed us to have both our ceremony and reception outside. Palm Springs has a special place in Amberly’s heart as her grandparents have called it home for many years. We both love the overall relaxed energy and style of Palm Springs and everything just seemed to feel right about hosting our friends there for the weekend. When we started looking at locations, we wanted to do something different than the traditional ballroom weddings we had been to and to make it feel personal to us. We viewed estates and a long list of other locations before finally seeing the Parker. It had the best of both worlds…it gave us confidence in knowing they had done weddings time and again, but it didn’t feel like the traditional hotel venue. We wanted our ceremony and reception to be held outside under twinkly lights…the Parker hit every one of our wishes. The energy of the property is a perfect blend that makes you want to have fun sipping drinks at the Lemonade Stand, relax by the pool, while still feeling upscale. Not only did the Parker provide the perfect wedding location, but our day-after party by the pool was exactly what we had hoped for to spend extra time with all of our friends and family. (Those signature Parker Lemonade Stand cocktails are just so delicious while sitting in the sun!)

Amberly and Scott’s favorite wedding moments:

· Our first look was amazing. The emotions were overwhelming. We both were really happy we did the first look to share that moment.

· While taking pictures before the wedding with our groomsmen/bridesmaids…they brought over a round of shots. We were able to say a few things to our closest friends and do a cheers with just them. It was the craziest feeling to have these people surrounding us and we were so excited to celebrate the night away with them.

· We had taken a few dance lessons leading up to the wedding and our teacher had helped choreograph it with us. As our guests were being seated before we were to do our “grand entrance” which would lead into our first dance, we both looked at each other and realized that neither of us could remember any of it! We laughed in those last few moments before entering as we tried to practice the dance in an empty ballroom which acted as our holding area.

· Dancing! We wanted the wedding to be the best party we could ever throw…and for us, that includes dancing. As soon as dinner was done our guests did not disappoint. It was SO much fun to have family and friends from all stages of our lives in one place…dancing the night away with us!

We love the cake and desserts created by Over the Rainbow, and the awesome ‘LOVE’ marquis sign backdrop was actually made by the groom, Scott!
