Splash House Palm Springs 2014

Splash House Palm Springs 2014

Although Palm Springs was once a bit of a ghost town during the summer, a new wave of visitors to the area are now indulging their love for our poolside culture year-round. While the majority of the big music festivals in the area have been relegated to the spring, including Coachella and Stagecoach both being held annually in April, last year a new electronic music event called Splash House was held in August in Palm Springs, marking a departure from the traditional in-season/off-season demarcation. Featuring three venues with poolside performances at each, this year’s event, being held June 13 – 15, 2014, promises to be even bigger and better, with Goldenvoice (the powerhouse promoters behind Coachella and Stagecoach) and electronic music promotors my Life Every Day (LED) now joining forces with the creators of Splash House, local sibling duo Tyler and Kelly McLean.

The Saguaro hotel is the only duplicate venue from last year, with the Hard Rock Hotel and the not-yet-open Hacienda Cantina & Beach Club signed on as the other two venues. Performances are held simultaneously at each of the venues over the course of the three days of the event, with shuttles continuously transporting attendees between the three venues. The lineup has not yet been announced, but in the meantime you can take advantage of a discounted ticket presale starting tomorrow (Thursday, May 1) at 10 a.m. PDT at SplashHouse.com. Presale tickets are $85 each, with the special rate running only until the lineup is announced (which we are told will be soon!). Last year’s event featured performances by over twenty artists, including Miami Horror, Bag Raiders, Eats Everything, Classixx, Poolside, Kedd Cook and Plastic Plates.
