Gabrielle Costa is an LA-based DJ whose sets incorporate a diverse range of music including shoegaze, post-punk, new wave, funk, world, electronic, ambient, krautrock, and more. Highlife with DJ Day: Old school Ace collaborator and selector DJ Day spins from his deep crates of soul, hip hop and disco into the wee hours every first Saturday of the month for Highlife in the Amigo Room at Ace Hotel & Swim Club. DJ Day is a DJ, producer and musician hailing from Palm Springs. With an illustrious career spanning two decades, he was recently named “Palm Spring’s Finest” and for good reason: his contributions to the various avant-garde music scenes in Southern California run deep. From the historic Root Down parties of Los Angeles to the infamous Do-Over, Day has garnered respect for his eclectic, well-executed DJ sets and diverse taste in music. His debut album, The Day Before rose to the top of numerous notable playlists including those of Giles Peterson (BBC), Jeremy Sole (KCRW) and Philly’s Cosmo Baker. Free, 21+.
